Nancy Ajram and Russian artists to perform at the first Arab-Russian Gala dinner in Dubai

The First Arab-Russian Gala will take place in Dubai on Thursday, 6th November 2008 at Madinat Jumeirah gathering more than 700 distinguished guests from the UAE, Russia and other countries around the world.

This exclusive cultural evening brings together two of the world’s richest cultures to share the same platform for the first time.
The Arab-Russian Gala initiative was instigated by London based event organiser Ensemble Productions and the Russian-Arab Business Council in Moscow in cooperation with the Centre of Social Communications and mainly originated from the rapidly growing international community and economy of Dubai, which has found such reliable business partners in Russia.
The level of Russian corporate and individual investment in Dubai is impressive, while Dubai has long been a dream holiday destination for Russians.
The Gala will include a scrumptious dinner, a charity auction, and a fashion show by Zuhair Murad, renowned Lebanese fashion designer and Anna Bystrova, designer for favourite Russian fashion label ROZA.
The highlight of the Gala is a performance by glamorous Nancy Ajram, award-winning Lebanese pop singer who is admired by Arabs around the world and an exceptional line-up of popular and classical Russian artists including Yuri Bashmet, one of the leaders of the Russian classical music scene and his acclaimed orchestra the Moscow Soloists; Nadezhda Babkina, distinguished Russian folk diva and celebrity; Dima Bilan, 2008 Eurovision Contest prize winner; phenomenal ballet duo Nikolai Tsiskaridze and Ilze Liepa who will delight the audience with a pas de deux from Mikhail Fokine’s Scheherazade and the Russian National Dance Show, one of Russia’s most talked about stage shows.
This special evening is sponsored by Arabtec, a top construction company in the UAE and supported by Sistema, Al Habtoor Properties, Oriadna and Modo Milano.
Proceeds of the Gala will benefit the Rashid Paediatric Therapy Centre for children with special needs and the Welfare Association, a leading Palestinian non-governmental development organization, as well as the construction of the first Russian Orthodox Cathedral in the UAE Parish of Saint Philip.
